The Ariel Motor Company describes its Nomad model as beautiful, purposeful, strong and safe. The Ariel range is continuing to expand with the British marque announcing a brand new supercharged variant of its potent Nomad off-roader. Ariel has added a supercharger to its all-terrain Nomad sports car, increasing power to 290bhp.
Typically, the Ariel Nomad utilises a 2.4-litre Honda-sourced four-cylinder turbocharged engine which is enough to rocket to Nomad to 100 km/h in well under four seconds. For Nomad customers looking for even more speed and power, a belt-driver supercharger has been developed as an alternative to the turbo. It brings power up to 290 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque, representing 55 hp and 30 lb-ft increases over the turbo’d model. That additional power will see the all-terrain Ariel reach 96 km/h in 3.4 seconds and 160 km/h in 7.4 seconds.
The supercharged Nomad costs more than the turbocharged variant but importantly, customers who’ve already taken delivery of turbo’d models can have their cars retrofitted with the supercharger.
